Girls Football Success

The girls have demonstrated excellent commitment to their training since Football was added to the extra curriculum timetable, in order to develop their skills and understanding of the game.

Football fixtures have begun and they’ve already experienced some great success!

The year 7-9 girls unfortunately were left disappointed when they lost their first 5 a-side game against Woodbridge. However, they did not let this loss defeat them and went on to make a great come back winning their recent game against Valentines 10-5.

The year 9-12 girls played an excellent first 9 a –side game against Oaks Park, with Halima Sheikh, Anastasia Evangeli, Shamari Crawford and Zaynab Sheikh scoring 5 goals in the first half making it 5-1. Oaks Park fought back and went on to score 3 goals in the second half closing the gap but the girls put in a great performance scoring another excellent goal from Anastasia, securing a well-deserved 6-4 win. Women of the match went to sisters Halima and Zaynab Sheikh.

The 9-12 girl’s success continued after their recent 5 a –side 15-6 win against Valentines, held at Power League, where they put in another excellent performance. Woman of the match went to Shamari Crawford.

Well played to all the girls who have attending football training and matches so far!
