Working from Home

Year 10

Head of Year: Mr M Green

I would like to welcome you back to Chadwell Heath Academy after the summer holidays. I hope that your family had a restful break and that you are all feeling refreshed ahead of the new school year. Pupils this year are beginning their journey into their GCSEs, and I am looking forward to seeing everything that they achieve this year.

As both a teacher and pastoral lead, I have come to know this Year Group as ambitious, aspirational and enterprising.  They have proved that they always try their best, which has certainly been reflected in their fantastic SATs results last year.  This year is an opportunity for pupils to approach school with their futures in mind.  It is important that all pupils approach the start of this year with the same endeavour, enthusiasm and positivity that they have displayed throughout their past 3 years in the school.

I look forward to working with you to ensure the best year ahead for your child.  You play a vital role in the education of your child.  Your encouragement and support can help them excel.  I am sure that you will agree that effective communication between home and school is one of the best ways to support pupils. Organisation and timekeeping are essential skills that pupils will need to place emphasis on as they continue throughout their GCSE courses and Show my Homework will become an important tool to support this. Please do support your child with the usage of this program throughout the year.

There will be lots of additional opportunities throughout the year, such as in-school talks and events, external trips and work experience that takes place at the end of the school year. Pupils will be guided in Citizenship lessons on how to approach companies about work experience and further information will be sent home in the autumn term. Please keep an eye on both SIMS and email communication for updates regarding these. Please also see below the list of key dates for this year.

May I take this opportunity to thank you for your on-going support to ensure the very best for your son/daughter. I hope they enjoy the new challenges this year and participate in all the school has to offer. I am looking forward to seeing them grow into the fantastic young people that I know they will become, and I wish them every success as they start their GCSE courses.

Please do not hesitate to get in touch if there is anything that I can do to support you and your child throughout the year.
